The angular coordinates, referred to the mean equinox at the beginning of the year, corresponding to the direction of the celestial body with respect to the center of the Earth. True mean place is calculated from the mean place by removing the effects of diurnal aberration and diurnal parallax and by antedating the time of observation by the length of time required for light to travel from the body to the observer.
