poser

In heavy metal subculture, a poser (or poseur) is a person who pretends to be a true metal fan, but does not engage in all the activities other "true" metal fans do. A poser usually dresses in heavy metal fashion, wears band t-shirts but does not necessarily listen to that kind of music or the particular band. The word poser can be heard quite often in heavy metal subculture, as such people are looked down upon by other members of the group. Apart from the fans, even band members can be deemed posers.
